I was not honored in this life to meet John Jr. but I was honored to work with his dad at Hanscom nearly 10 years ago now. My heart goes out to all who love John Jr and are still in so much pain. You all are in my prayers for peace to come to you. I've lost many loved ones and I can say that the pain truly does not go away, but with time it becomes easier to go on and in time come to realize our loved ones are still right here with us. The physical body may be gone but every atom that made our loved one who they are is still right here beside each of us. Our loved one has passed thru a veil that we cannot see thru or hear their voice thru - but we can feel them with us still. Time, space and dimension have no meaning on their side of the veil - they are able to be with every one of those they loved at the same instant in our time...and when you are still and quiet you will be able to feel them standing next to you as surely as you feel a breeze. Mrs. Landry - you are so correct in calling John Jr an Angel for that truly is his vocation now and his primary and only duty is to watch over you and all those who love him. I will not speak of him in the past tense because he is not gone...he is still here and watching over all of you...it is only his physical body that is gone and on his side of the veil he is healthy and happy...he will never be sick or too old...an he is only waiting for each of his loved ones to re-join him - he is preparing one hell of a party over there to greet you when in the course of time it is your turn to join him. This is only a temporary separation nothing more. You WILL see him again and hold him in your arms because Love is a constant that never dies. John Jr. fulfilled his mission on this side of the veil and went on to his mission to watch over all of you. Have a blessed life until you are reunited with your Angel. We watched some soldier's telling stories about there battles in Afghanistan. They were heart wrenching. So many families have suffered great losses. Just as we have It is so sad. I'm sorry we didn't get to make a welcome home banner for you, I'm sorry you didnt get to grow old and have a family and become the amazing father you would've been. I'm not sorry for being able to call you my hero and work as hard as I can to live my life to the fullest because you taught me that life is too short to not do what you love.

I worked with your dad on Hanscom AFB, Bldg 1614. I know that YOU know just how difficult it has been for your family and friends since you crossed thru the veil from our side of life to the life you now have - a vibrant life where you are forever young and healthy and carefree. I will always speak and think of you in the present tense because I know you are still with all those who know you and love you so much - just as so many of my family who have crossed over (my dad's 95th birthday is today - we're having a cake with him later today - I won the straw draw so I get to blow his candles out for him!) are still with me and my family. In my family we still celebrate the birthdays, anniversaries, and special days. We know the gifts we would like to give are of no use to those we love who are on the other side now - so we buy those gifts anyway and give them to veteran's shelters where they are appreciated so much. We leave them under the tree at Christmas and on Christmas Eve take them to the shelters and veteran homes.
Losing those we love from this side of the dividing veil is never something anyone here on this side 'gets over'...all we can try to do is get used to it...and find ways to keep our loved ones alive in our hearts.
We are not separated forever - only 'for now' - and once we all go where you are now - we will see how truly short our time on this side was until we join all of you who completed your mission on this side of the veil and graduated to a well earned rewarding life on the other side.
I look forward to meeting you "in the flesh" one day when I go to where you are now - once I complete my mission on this side - from all I've heard and read you are a truly gifted and amazing person and one I look forward to meeting one day.

Landry, Sr., and Pamela (Morse) Landry of Lowell, formerly of Wilmington. As his parents put it “we were thrilled because it gave us extra time with him.” He was placed in a Christmas Stocking in the nursery before he was given to his parents; it was love at first sight.

Hello my darling son I miss you so so much John my heart aches everyday every hour and every minute of every day sometimes it unbearable . It has been really hard to have to go on without you sometimes i really dont think that i can do it anymore. I am sure you know that mom broke her back in a bad car accident. I have two rods three plates and twelve screws in my back. Its very painful i have good days and bad days. sometimes i get so angry at god because i wish i died in that car accident i dont know how i didnt the guy rear ended me going ninety miles an hour we all know how i survied ihad a guardian angle with me named John Francis Landry Jr i love and miss you. Donovan talks about at school he did a report for vetre3ns day. i was at the gym the other day and there was a special on fallen soldiers on the tv. it caught my eye and i couldnt help but burst into tears. when i went into the bathroom to compose myself, i felt your presence. i know you were there to lift that weight of sorrow off of my shoulders, and i know you do it for our whole family. we still feel you here johnny, i know you're still here. i love you so much and i hope you're resting in peace. i cant wait to see you again someday and have our christmas eve talk and to feel that big teddy bear hug of yours, i truly can't wait. i love you

PFC John Landry (junior) I am a cousin from north of the 49th parallel, one cousin among many in the area known as Canada. As one person that never met any of my relatives that had connection to "the Boston States" I also know of many other cousins that never met you! However, during the last month (August 14th-16th, 2009) a weekend in Spaniards Bay, Conception Bay there was a Foster-Brazil Family ReUniona and the many gusests that came there from Texas, Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador they were made aware of you JOHN LANDRY Jr, the great-great-great grandson of John Brazil & Frances Foster-Brazil, and the great-great-great-great grandson of Joseph and Elizabeth Foster! So now many more have heard of you our cousin.

Eight years ago today America suffered an attack on our freedom. Thousands died. Their families and the free world began mourning the loss of the innocent. A day that will never be forgotten. You answered the call to arms to defend the very freedom that all americans cherish. In defending our country against those who would conspire against us, attempt to instill fear throughout the world and cowardly hide in foreign lands, you gave your life. Your selfless sacrifice still inspires those who knew you. Today we honor your memory. Our flags still fly proudly in your honor, we remember yor smile, your big heart and your undying courage. And today our prayers are with the friends and family that you left behind. Once again, we thank you PFC John F. Landry for protecting life and country. You are not forgotten.

It's memorial day again. And again our thoughts turn to you PFC. On the day america remembers and honors the men and women who have put themselves in harms way, we remember you. When we watch the small town parades we remember you, when we see the american flags flying in the front yards, veterans proudly showing their colors, they children playing with their red white and blue streamers, and the flags mounted on the windows of passing cars, we remember you. Sadly countless other friends,families and loved ones are coming to understand what this day truely means. It means that thousands of other men and women of your character,heart,and stature have also made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the free world and the country they so love,the families they loved, and the friends they loved. And today we remember you. People attend events, BBQ in their yard, and visit the graves of fallen heros. Somewhere distance is heard the quiet notes of a bugle,and we remember you. Our flag flies especially proud today for you. For today, we remember you PFC. John F. (Little) Landry Jr.
