Delbert Dean Hutchinson

Delbert Dean Hutchinson (age 91) was born to Vern and Fay Hutchinson of Grand Junction CO., on May 31, 1934 and passed away 9-20-25. He attended Grand Junction High School and was involved in wrestling and boxing. He was very active in 4-H as a teen and later became a leader. He enjoyed roller skating, ice skating, raising animals, playing the guitar and cornet. He attended Mesa Community College and transferred to CSU, Ft Collins Colorado with a scholarship in A&M, Agriculture.
Delbert is survived by his four children; Debbie Hicks (Ronnie) of Nixa Missouri, David Hutchinson (Linda) of Elkland Missouri, Susan Hutchinson, Arvada Colorado, Joan Roberts (John) of Niangua Missouri, from his former wife, (Peggy Harmon Fuge, (2023). He was preceded in death by his second wife, Ruth (2008) and third wife Billie (2023). Delbert is also survived by four grandchildren, Amber Hicks, Jason Hicks (Terra), Cassie Stoll (Josh), Brittany Roberts-McElwain (Zach) and 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Delbert worked at the cement plant in Colorado for 16 years. Delbert and Peggy had a small farm in Wellington, Colorado where they raised their 4 children. In 1972, the family moved to Conway Missouri, to a farm where they raised cattle, sheep and organic gardening. He worked as a janitor at Conway Schools and later took a custodial job at Southwest Missouri State University until he retired.
A celebration of life for Delbert is set for October 6, 2025 at 5:00 pm at the Greenlawn Funeral Home-South in Springfield, Mo.
