Jackie "Jack" E. Roark Jackie "Jack" E. Roark, 75, of Charlottesville, passed away on Wednesday August 7, 2013, at his home. Born on June 12, 1938, he was the son of the late William M. Roark and Clara Durham Roark. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Effie; brothers, John Roark, James Roark and William Roark; and sister, Barbara Jikomes. Jackie served in the United States Air Force and worked as an electrician at the University of Virginia for over 20 years. He is survived by his wife Joyce Roark; stepchildren, Jamie, Kevin and Keith Harris, all of Louisa, Virginia, Cindy Alcorn of Bacliff, Texas, Peggy Weikle of Nelson County, Virginia, and Mike Shifflett of Madison, Virginia; sisters, Helen Ford of Charlottesville, and Mary Hurlburt and her husband, James, of Bosque, New Mexico; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Holly Memorial Gardens with Pastor Randy Golladayofficiating. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2013, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Pkwy., Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911 www.hopva.org.
