Alfonso Gonzalez Hernandez, 70, of Colona passed away November 29, 2023 at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
Cremation rites will be accorded, and a mass will be 10:00am Saturday, December 9. 2023 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Colona.
Alfonso was born November 3, 1953 in Jalisco, Mexico the son of Avelino Gonzalez and Maria Hernandez. He married Joan Gargano in 1994. They later divorced. Alfonso was always happy and enjoyed the outdoors. He also enjoyed gardening, music, food, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children Jorge Gonzalez, Olivia Gonzalez, Norma (Alfonso) Servin, and Leticia (Rosalio Chavez) Gonzalez; grandchildren Jorge Alejandro, Ivan, Yaritza, Lennea, Juan, Maribel, Alfonso, Jasmin, Daisy, Leslie, Angel, and Mariam; brother Luis Gonzalez Hernandez and a nephew Armando Elizalde.
Alfonso was preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings.
