Charles “Chuck” Keown, 93, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday October 23, 2025. He proudly served his country for 22 years in the United States Air Force before retiring. Chuck was a Viet Nam War veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #9, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #696, and the Disabled American Veterans. Never one to stay idle, Chuck later obtained his Commercial Driver’s License and enjoyed another career as a truck driver. Chuck was a lifelong learner who loved to explore new ideas, and work with his hands. He enjoyed reading and traveling with his wife, Wanda. They were able to travel to all 48 states in the Continental United States. He was known for his strong work ethic, steady character, unwavering devotion to his family, and his love of coffee.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brothers, George “Hoppy” Keown and Robert “Bob” Keown, and his sister Hazel Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Wanda Keown, and their children: Terri Wheatley, David (Lee) Keown, Peggy McGee, Renée Terry, Charles (Elizabeth) Keown, Michael (Junali) Keown, and Connie (DeWayne) Short. He was also blessed with grandchildren Charles Wesley Keown, Jessica Terry, Charles Mitchell Keown, Nicholas Keown, Jacob Keown, Anthony Keown, Rachel Keown, and Julan Keown. Chuck’s legacy of curiosity, hard work, and love will continue to inspire those who knew him.
