He was born in Ft. Hood, Texas, to Donald and Willa (Naylor) Nelson. Kevin worked in Construction for the Z Team Construction Company. He married Bianca Stanfill on November 20, 2009.
Kevin was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Donald Gannon and Dean Nelson; grandmother, Geneva Nelson.
He is survived by his wife, Bianca Nelson, of Council Bluffs; 2 sons, Lucaas Nelson of Council Bluffs and Kyler Tye, of Atlantic, Iowa; 2 daughters, Jaidyn and Serenity Nelson, both of Council Bluffs; mother and step father, Willa and John Lee; sister and husband, Keea and Justin Bywater, all of Portsmouth, Iowa; brother, Shane and Valerie Nelson, of Iowa City, Iowa; grandmother, Lorna Gannon, of Portsmouth, Iowa; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation with family on Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Service on Friday, at 11 a.m., at the Funeral Home. Cremation to follow the Service. Memorials to Mid States Bank: Kevin Nelson Memorial Fund.
