BAYNES, Carol L., 84, of Richmond, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, May 4, 2010. She was the beloved wife of Francis G. Baynes, and dear mother of Patricia E., Stephen J., and Michael J. Baynes. She graduated from Cathedral High School and attended Hunter College and Pace College. She and her husband were partners in various successful businesses in New York, Florida, and Virginia. Her personal career included positions at Alderman Library at the University of Virginia, working in various state agencies and lastly retiring from the Department of Anthropology and Sociology at VCU. She was a member of the Daughters of St. Francis de Sales and she happily resided at Jeanne Jugan Pavilion at St. Joseph's Home until the time of her death. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., where a Rosary will be held 7 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, 300 N. Sheppard St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Home, Little Sisters of the Poor, 1503 Michaels Road, Richmond, Va. 23229-4899.
