Robert Dawson

DAWSON, Robert Wayne, age 63, passed away peacefully in his home on April 19, 2010. Wayne is survived by his mother, Mildred; his two sons, Matthew Wayne and Joseph Bradley; their mother, Phyllis; and his brother, David. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Dawson Jr. Wayne was born in Richmond, Virginia, and graduated from Highland Springs High School, the University of Richmond and the T.C. Williams School of Law. He was a practicing member of the Virginia State Bar Association for 39 years. He held various offices including president of the North Richmond Jaycees and was a leader in the Virginia Ski Club, organizing numerous international excursions. He will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor, a lifelong love of learning and a caring heart. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Laurel Hill United Methodist Church, 1919 New Market Road, Richmond, Va. 23231. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cat's Cradle of Greater Richmond (804-282-3833) in memory of his beloved cat, Mr. Cuddles, or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
