Alvin G. Schmid, age 91, formerly of Hanover, passed away December 16, 2023 at his home in Port Charlotte, Florida.
He was born in Hanover on May 24, 1932 the son of Gustav and Alice (Meyer) Schmid.
Alvin was a Korean War Veteran with a Bronze Star. As a young man he engaged in dairy farming.
On July 2, 1972 Alvin Schmid was joined in holy marriage to Ilene Wolff at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover. Along with his wife, Alvin drove a milk truck for The Burschville Cooperative for many years.
He was a past member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover.
Survived by a sister: Linda Koepke; a sister-in-law: Irma Schmid; a step-daughter: Debra Lightfoot; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his loving wife: Ilene N. Schmid; parents; brothers: Howard and Glenard; and by a sister: Leona Lucht.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11 A.M. at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home in St. Michael.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
