Anthony S. Buscema, 75., of Waretown, N.J. formerly of West Paterson, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Born and raised in Paterson, N.J., he was a longtime resident of West Paterson, prior to settling in Waretown. A veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a former parishioner of St. Bonaventure RC Church in Paterson. Anthony was a lifetime member and past president of the PBA Local #80 in Totowa, past treasurer of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 81 and a member of the Honor Legion.
Prior to retiring in 2010, he was a police officer for the Passaic County Park Police and was the owner/operator of BIS Security in West Paterson for many years. He also enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family and friends.
Beloved husband of RoseMarie Buscema (Emmolo). Loving and devoted father of daughter Lisa Marie Smith and husband Spencer and son Salvatore A. Buscema and wife Tara. Cherished grandfather of Zachary and Zoe Smith and Bianca Buscema. Dear brother of Virginia Buscema Straube, Elaine Sinforosa and husband Fred, Robert Buscema and wife Jeannine and the late Joanne Rasp. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends. He will be missed immensely.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, from 4-8PM at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, 10:15 a.m. at St. Bonaventure RC Church, 174 Ramsey Street, Paterson, NJ 07501. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Anthony may be made to the Disabled American Veterans - Chapter 81, P.O. Box 756, Forked River, N.J. 08731.
