Arthur McKinley Stilwell

Arthur McKinley Stilwell age 90 of Raven, Virginia passed from this world to his heavenly home, Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Clinch Valley Medical Center.
Arthur was born June 10, 1932, in Buchanan County, Virginia, and was the son of the late Thomas Stilwell and Ida Ball Stilwell. "Mama told me when I was young to go find a woman, and you'll find love, and don't forget son, there is someone up above, and be a simple kind of man, be something you love and understand" He worked as a coal miner for many years to support his family and led a simple happy life. He loved going to flea markets and spending time with his family and friends. Arthur was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was met in heaven by his parents, his loving wife, Elsie Keen Stilwell, and an infant son, several brothers, and sisters and sons-in-law, Jimmy Owens, Junior Horn, a grandson, Christopher Stilwell and a dear friend, Thelma Osborne.

Eight great-grandchildren which he adored and deeply loved also survive, along with a host of family and friends.
The funeral service for Arthur Stilwell will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 17, 2022, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with the Rev. Billy Clifton officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be sons-in-law, grandsons, and great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses on the 5th floor and the ICU at Clinch Valley Medical Center. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 pm until the time of service.
