Beverley Crompton

Beverley G. Crompton, 90, of Enfield, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital. Beverley was born in Pawtucket, RI, to the late Herbert and Eva (Lomas) Holgate.
Beverley was born and raised in Pawtucket, RI, where she met the love of her life, Stanley, at a school dance while in junior high school. She graduated from Pawtucket West High School and the Comptometer School of Providence, RI, and then began working at New England Machine. Beverley and Stanley married and later moved to Enfield, where she dedicated herself to raising her family while pursuing higher education with determination. She earned a bachelor's degree from Central Connecticut State University and a master's degree in Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University. Beverley's passion for books and education led her to a career as a children's librarian at the Somers Public Library. Her enthusiasm for lifelong learning was highly contagious and continues to inspire her family.
Beverley was a long-time member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, now Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Enfield, where she served on the altar guild and taught Sunday school.
She loved line dancing, reading, crossword puzzles, and Scrabble, enjoying these activities throughout her life. She liked to travel and often shared stories of her adventures to Alaska, Australia, Europe, and China. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy and she always provided them with endless love and support. She was loved beyond measure and will be profoundly missed.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stanley Crompton, and her son, Thomas Crompton. Beverley is survived by her daughter, Nancy Pare, and her daughter-in-law, Kristine Crompton. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Janice Sennick and her husband Robert, Valerie Nazzaro and her husband David, Kaylyn Crompton, and Andrew Crompton. Beverley was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Nathan Nazzaro, Evie Sennick, and Camille Sennick. She is also survived by her siblings, Sally Pierce, Thomas Holgate and his wife Bette Jean, Carol Tolpa, and Herbert Holgate, Jr., along with many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff in the cardiac ICU at St. Francis Hospital for their care and compassion.
