Dixie Lea Pendland of Republic, Missouri, peacefully passed away on June 20, 2024, at the age of 90. Born in Fair Play, Missouri, on March 29, 1934, Dixie's faith led her in life to be a strong and dedicated sister, mother, and Nana.
Dixie's grandchildren were the light of her life. They cheered on the Chiefs, the K-State Wildcats, and "golfed" together any time there was a match on. She also enjoyed her volunteer work for many years with the American Cancer Society in Kansas City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ruth Crain, her brothers Richard and Jimmy Crain, her nephew and nieces, Kelly Crain Crisp, Ricky and Cindy Lee, and her daughter-in-law Karen Pendland. She is survived by her sisters Priscilla Lee, husband Pete, Kay Munhollon, husband Leon, brother Knial Crain, wife Karise, children Brian Pendland and Brooke Ward, grandchildren Konner and Brett Pendland and Devon and Carle Ward.
A graveside service to honor Dixie's life will be held at Akard Cemetery in Fair Play, Missouri on July 2, 2024, at 12:00 pm. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on the same day at 10:00 am.
Dixie was able to tell her family "I lived a good life; I am very blessed. He kept me here a long time, and I am ready."
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the American Cancer Society.
