Fort Kent---Doris Deschaine, 88, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2024, at a Fort Kent health care facility, surrounded by her family. She was born in Fort Kent on December 26, 1935, daughter of the late James and Bertha (Bourgoin) Gagnon. A lifetime resident of Fort Kent, she will be remembered as a hard worker who loved to laugh, as well as someone who gave her all for her family. Doris owned and operated Norm's Pizza for many years, following the death of her husband in 1983. She is survived by her four daughters, Lisa (Jim) O'Malley, Susan (Michael) Graves, Kim (Ross) Jandreau, and Sara Farnham; seven grandchildren, Meghan (Marty) Dinneen, Matthew O'Malley, Quinn Graves, Lauren (James Hynd) Graves, Hannah Graves, Parker Jandreau, Tyler Farnham; four great grandchildren, Madison, MacKenzie, Olivia, Finley; four siblings, Marilyn (Tom) Ouellette, Mike (Donna) Gagnon, Brenda (Alan) Caron, Bruce (Elaine) Gagnon; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman; one daughter, Monica. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on June 3, 2024, at the St. Louis Church. Interment will be held immediately following the Mass in the Parish cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.

I remember when Mrs. Deschaine(Doris) had a pizza place in Fort Kent, She was a very strong and beautiful person. A great lady who overcame adversity and brought up nice daughters! Our thoughts and prayers at this sad time

To Aunt Doris' family, May you keep fond memories close to your heart forever. Aunt Doris was a sweet and fun person with a great laugh. She will be missed, but she is finally reunited with Uncle Norman.
