Edward M. Moreno, 68, of Berkley, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2024. Edward, fondly known as Ed or Eddie was born to Helen and Edward Moreno on May 17, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan. Ed held many titles in his life that he was proud of from loving son, husband, father, father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, coach and friend. However, his most cherished role was being the best papa to his four grandchildren. He loved nothing more than spending time with them and making memories.
Ed's loving spirit is carried on by his beloved wife, Denise; daughter, Tracy (Gabe) Rubin, sons, Tony (Jacquie) Moreno and Dan Moreno; sister, Renae (Randy) Jones; brother, Robert Moreno; and grandchildren, Ceila, Jonah and Ella Rubin, and Eddie Moreno. Along with his sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Vickie and Denny Carol, Laura and Bob Reid, Casey Reid, Dawn Keller and nieces and nephews, Craig (Angela) Jones, Bryan (Abby) Jones, Jason Jones, Danielle (Adam) Norton, Chloe (Doug) Acker, Amy Keller, and Adam Keller He was preceded in death by his father and mother, as well as, brother, Mike Moreno; sister, Lisa Moreno; brother-in-law, Randy Jones; and niece, Stephanie Jones.
Ed was an active jack-of-all-trades and the first person you would go to with a problem or when anything needed to be fixed. His family coined the phrase WWED, meaning "What Would Ed Do?" His Berkley roots ran deep as he grew up and raised his family in this community. He was a Berkley High School graduate and a Facilities Manager for Dedoes Industries for over 25 years before he retired in December 2021. He had a passion for working on cars and in his yard. Ed also dedicated his time to coaching his sons in hockey through the Berkley hockey program and served as the Berkley High School Hockey Head Coach for several years. He cherished spending time boating and fishing at his lake house on Grand Lake in Northern Michigan with family and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 12 Mile Road, Berkley (two blocks west of Woodward Avenue). Funeral Service will take be 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Captain Cathy's Foundation, P.O. Box 357, Roseville, MI 48066
Ed will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Denise, I just found about about Ed, I briefly met you at a Dedoes Xmas party. I'm so sorry about your loss. I absolutely loved him as my boss. He was a great man. Stacy
