Francis "Frank" Joseph Smith
July 17,1952 – January 13, 2023
Francis "Frank" Joseph Smith of Huntsville, formerly of Butler, passed away on Friday, January 13th, 2023, at the age of seventy. He was born in Oswego, New York to Genie and Pat Smith. A graduate of Choctaw County High School and Auburn University, he worked for Hewlett-Packard for most of his career, retiring after 25 years of service.
Frank is survived by his wife, Lilly; his mother, Genie Smith; sisters Margie Hutcheson (Kenny), Pat Rocks, Liz Redding, Katie Gent (Dan), and his brother Duffy Smith; Nephews, Patrick Hutcheson (Sammy), Austin Redding, Nicholas Redding, Matthew Gent, Christopher Gent, Randall Moy; Nieces, Lora King (Dan), Ginny Daniels (Michael), Allison Hayhurst (Mike), Jennifer Han (John); Great nieces, Bailey Hutcheson and Emma King; Great nephews, Hayes Hutcheson, Alex King, Alexander Han (Lex), Elijah Han, and Jacob Han
Frank was preceded in death by his father, Joseph "Pat" Smith; his sister, Marianne Smith; and his brother, Michael Smith.
Frank was an avid golfer for many years, as well as a dedicated fan of the Auburn Tigers. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews, always making a point to be present through the years as they grew up. He also enjoyed spending time with his yoga group.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 4th, 2023, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Bumpers Funeral Home, with Father Travis Burnett officiating.
