Irene I. Parenteau

Irene I. (Weagle) Parenteau, 98, lifelong Auburn resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the Overlook in Charlton.
She leaves her loving children, Stephen Parenteau, of Naples, FL, and Susan F. Clifford, of Worcester; grandchildren, Colleen McDuffie, Scott Kulesza, Amy Smith, Michael Parenteau, Christopher Kulesza, and Brian Parenteau; fourteen great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; her brothers, Carroll Weagle, of Auburn, and Gary Weagle, of Paxton; along with many nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Earl C. Parenteau; her son, William E. Lovejoy, Jr.; her siblings, Laurie Weagle, Max Weagle, Henry Weagle, and Shirley West; and their parents, Charles S. Weagle and Helen (Weagle).
Irene was a lifelong Auburn resident, born and raised. She was a 1942 graduate of Auburn High School. In her younger years, she worked for Reed & Prince Manufacturing, and later worked as a Keyhole Punch Operator at Guarantee Bank.
In her free time, Irene enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and loved painting.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Irene's name to a charity of your choice.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family from 9:30 – 11:00 AM on Friday, January 20, 2023 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME. A service will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum, Worcester.
