Jack Kenneth Scheck II, 71, passed away October 16, 2024. He was born in Akron to the late Jack and Jean (Sherman) Scheck and was a 1972 Ellet High School graduate. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy and retired from Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital with over 40 years of service.
Jack was active in many sports including softball, bowling and golf, and was a total movie buff. He had a great sense of humor and lived his life with great optimism. He loved his family deeply and would go to great lengths to help them. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Scott, and niece, Missy. He is survived by his children, Jeananne Kilbel and Jack (Julie) Scheck; step-son, Vinnie (Lyndsey); grandchildren, Landon, Nate and Lucas; his little buddy, Bubba; siblings, Mindy (Don), Jennie (Rich) and Marty (Cindy); and other loving relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305 with Pastor Gordon Hayberg officiating. Calling hours will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 1 – 2 p.m. Burial with military honors will be Monday, October 21, at 9:15 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, OH 44273.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, 10701 East Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106.
