Born in Greenville, SC, he was a son of the late Horace and Mary Hoffman Joy.
Jackie was a devoted and loving father and grandfather. He was known for his positive outlook and was quite the jokester. Jackie enjoyed his career in the fur trade industry and took great pride in his work.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Tammy Joy, Melissa Clark (Terry) and Jackie Joy, Jr. (Christopher); seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; Joan Morris; and Brenda Joy.
In addition to his loving parents, Jackie was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers, and a granddaughter.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Easley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greenville County Animal Care, 328 Furman Hall Road, Greenville, SC 29609.
The family is welcoming visitors at the residence of Jackie Joy, Jr., 300 Overbrook Road, Greenville, SC 29607
