John was born and raised in Wauwatosa, WI and graduated from Wauwatosa East High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI. He earned
his Master's Degree from Cardinal Stritch University. John attended St. Francis Xavier Church in LaGrange where he volunteered as an usher. After the events of 9/11, he was moved to help
his country and became a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in the Chicagoland area. He was proud to volunteer alongside active and retired Coast Guard servicemen and
servicewomen. He was also a volunteer at Hines VA Blind Rehabilitation Center. John was always prepared and ready to help those in need.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at St. Francis Xavier Church, Corner of Spring & Ogden, LaGrange, IL 60525, from 10:00 A.M. to time of Mass at 11:00 A.M.
Interment Private.
Arrangements entrusted to Hitzeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 9445 W. 31st Street, Brookfield, IL 60513
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Greater Chicago Food Depository, 4100 W Ann Lurie Pl, Chicago, IL 60632 https://www.chicagosfoodbank.org/, The St. Francis Xavier Food Pantry or any local food pantry.

Dear Kathy, Jack, Nick and family: Sending our deepest sympathy and prayers for God's comfort and strength.
John was a true, kind gentleman and friend. Mike has many memories of their friendship. John brought fun with him. We had a blast at our wedding, John, our best man, helped to make it so. John was a friend in the saddest times and in the best, happy times. Kathy we remember the fun visit you two paid to our home when our first son was born! We were blessed to have known John and know he will be deeply missed by you his family. With our prayers that God will be close as you grieve.

John was an usher at noon
Mass at SFX when I met
him, Kathy, Jack and Nick.
It was a blessing that attendance at Mass was
an integral part of the
Roger's family. Kathy was
truly blessed with three
wonderful gentleman in
her life. Every time I saw
John I would smile and
salute him. He was so
proud to be on call with
the Coast Guard. THANK
YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE,
JOHN. He was always willing
to help as usher at Mass,
and as a fellow usher,
I always gave up my
assignment to him with the
collections and directing
Communion flow.
I will attend the Mass at
SFX on Saturday, July 22
to pay tribute to a great
man and support for
his family who he truly
loved.
