Obituary of Kenneth Ricardo Anderson
Kenneth Ricardo Anderson, 56, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away on May 18, 2023, at Prisma Health Richland Columbia, South Carolina. He was born on April 14, 1967, in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Mary L. (Anderson) Sumpter and Stepfather John T. Sumpter.
Kenny, as he preferred to be called, was a devoted father, brother, and friend. He was employed by Richland County School District One as a driver, where his size and disposition likely commanded the attention of the students on his route. He was an avid motorcyclist and was a member of the "Dirty South Ryders" Motorcycle Club. Though not particularly extroverted, his personality was as big as he was and could capture a room. He loved having fun and spending time with his club members, high school classmates, co-workers, along with family and friends, but his passion was raising his boys, Kaden and Kendall. He was a doting father that believed in "tough love", but no one could question his love and absolute dedication to his boys. Chances were if he wasn't working, he was with the boys.
Kenny is survived by the love of his life, Tanisha Pearson, sons; Kaden and Kendall Anderson, brothers: Ricky Anderson (Renee) and Brian Sumpter (Tammy), one stepsister, Pauline Carson (Bernard). He is also survived by an aunt, Thomasina Tucker and his uncle, Larry Anderson.
Kenny leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to treasure his memory.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Maggie Ruth Anderson.
Kenny's celebration of life will be held at Bible Way Church of Atlas Road, 2440 Atlas Road, Columbia, SC on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 1:00 pm. A family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary. The burial for Kenny will follow the church service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209.
