Lillian passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 at McLaren Bay Region, age 97. She was born December 8, 1923 in Bay City to the late James Philip and Theresa Jane (Tobin) Lamkin. Lillian married the love of her life Kenneth Bumgarner, Sr. on April 18, 1942 and he predeceased her on May 10, 1994. She was a member of All Saints Parish-St. James Church all of her life. She was a Girl Scout Leader for several years and volunteered for over 35 years at Mercy Hospital, later Bay Medical Center and the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in their recovery departments. Lillian was also a longtime member of the YMCA in Bay City, where she walked the track and water exercised daily until Covid restricted them from being open for several months.
Lillian was the best mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and sister to first and foremost to her children: Kenneth (Cheryl "Cookie") Bumgarner, Jr., Kathleen (Howard) Heading, Jr., James (Jan) Bumgarner, Sandra (Stanley) Bobick and Julie Hinojos (Larry Pomaville), son-in-law Richard Nadobny, 18 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and one sister Theresa Anthony. Lillian was predeceased by one daughter Theresa Jane Nadobny, Baby boy Billy, one grandson Antonio 'Tony" Hinojos and two sisters, Frances Anthony and Catherine "Kay" Rowell-Martin.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 18, 2021, at 11:00 AM at All Saints Parish-St. James Church. Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera will celebrate Mass and interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends may call at Ambrose Funeral Home on Sunday, October 17, 2021, from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and at church on Monday after 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the "Wishes of the Family" in care of Sandra Bobick. www.ambrosefuneralchapel.com
