Mary Curtis Obituary
Mary Jane Curtis, 65, of Ozark, Arkansas, gained her wings a little after noon on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Baptist Health in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Mary, the youngest of nine children, was born to this world on July 3, 1958, in Monroe, Louisiana, just a little before midnight by her beloved mother, Helen Marie (Hughes) Boucher. Mary's father, Joe Silas Boucher, passed away when she was three years young, and Helen remarried to Thomas C. Bradford who was a loving stepfather. Mary and Ricky Gene Curtis, the love of her life, were joined in marriage on May 10, 1985, in Houston, Texas. They enjoyed thirty nine years together until death did them part. Mary will be fondly remembered for her omnipresent smile and laugh that could light up the room. Forever a Texas girl with a heart as big as the Lone Star State sky. Mary entered the oilfield pipe business as a quality control inspector shortly after graduating from Ross Sterling High School in 1976. She retired in 1996 from North Star Steel in Youngstown, Ohio. After retiring, Mary took the role of homemaker, allowing her to enjoy her arts and crafts. She would often be found with a smile on her face while visiting with her many friends. Mary was fiercely devoted and loyal to her family and friends, displaying an unconditional love for those close to her. Mary is preceded in death by mother, Helen M. Bradford; stepfather, T.C. Bradford; brothers, Freddie Ed Boucher, Joe Tom Boucher; and sister, Margie Mae Cockerham. She is survived by her spouse, Ricky Gene Curtis; sister, Margaret Bradford; and brothers, Dennis Boucher, Jerry Boucher, Joe Silas Boucher Jr., and Walter Lee Boucher. Services to be determined at a later time. Cremation is under the thoughtful direction of River Glenn Cremation and Funeral Services.
