Oscar (Oz) Harrington, 81, passed away at his Crestwood, KY home after a period of illness on June 3rd, 2025.

Born in Louisville KY March 17, 1944 to Oscar H. and Lila Harrington. He graduated from SHS in 1962, from EKU with a BA in 1966, and from WKU with a Masters in 1974. He taught for JCPS at Moore HS where he also was a tennis coach. Additionally, he was a Kentucky GLP instructor.

He served on the Police Merit Board and was an active member of the OCPD Citizen Police Academy. He was an active member of Mt. Tabor UMC.

Oscar is proceeded in death by his parents Oscar H. Harrington and Lila Harrington-Collins (Grey), and sister Maryann Roberts (Harrington).

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Williams Harrington. Oscar is also survived by his sons, Scott (Christina), Todd (Monica) and Jason; three grandchildren, Todd Jr., Amber and Hunter, four great grandchildren, and brother, George (Rita) Collins. Oscar is also survived by a loving host of family and friends.

He loved his family, fishing, traveling, gardening and collecting stamps. He was known to his close friends as Dr. Oz.

The family ask that in lieu of flowers any funeral contributions be sent to Mt. Tabor UMC general fund.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11th, 2025 from 11 AM until 1 PM at Stoess Funeral Home 6534 W Hwy 22, Crestwood, KY 40014 with service to follow. Burial will be held at Mt.Tabor UMC following funeral service.
