Patricia Ann Pat Smith Cannon, 67, loving wife of Lloyd Bruce Cannon, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022, after a brief illness. Born in Foley, AL, but raised in Abbeville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Joe Smith and Anne Jones Lake.
Pat was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed being with her family, gardening, painting, sewing, and creating unique works of art.
Pat and Bruce met in Greenwood after being introduced by Pat s sister Joanne, they instantly fell in love and married in 1980. They celebrated 43 wonderful years together.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her two wonderful children, William LeRoy Haddon, Jr. and wife, Laura; Patrick Bonner Haddon and wife, Shelly, along with her six precious grandchildren, William L. Trey Haddon, III, Edie Haddon, and Lydia Haddon, Patrick Bonner Haddon, Jr., Mary Laree Haddon, and Eleanor Bruce Haddon. She is also survived by two loving sisters, Joanne Scott and Diane Harrison. Her kind and gentle spirit touched many people during her life, from the children she taught in kindergarten to the friends she made along life s journey.
She was preceded in death by her sister, D Onne Bowen and two brothers, Joe and Earl Smith.
A private memorial service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022.
She was devoted to her little brown dog, Lucca, so in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boykin Spaniel Rescue at www.boykinspanielrescue.org.
