Ralph Prettyman "Bud" Joline
November 12, 1936- February 27, 2024
Ralph P. Joline, 87, long time resident of Sherborn, MA and most recently Millis, MA passed
away on Tuesday February 27, 2024 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in
Worcester, MA.
Ralph was born on November 12, 1936 in Wilmington, DE, the son of Ralph H, and Leah
(Howard) Joline. He was a graduate of Boston Trade High School in Jamaica Plain, MA and
further attended Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston,MA.
Ralph married Judith Taylor Chisholm on Thursday November 27, 1958, and they were married
for almost 53 years at the time of her passing on October 29, 2011.
Ralph was predeceased by his sister Dolores Lyons. He is survived by his brother William
Joline of Seaford, DE and his four children, Robin Shean and her husband Peter of Millis;
Ralph P, II and his wife Valerie of Sherborn; Dionne Waite of Merrimack; and Bruno C.of
Holliston. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren: Ryan Clinton, Peter Shean, II, Whitney Drovatzikas,
Courtney Weiner, Cristyn Joline, Ralph P Joline, III, Trevor Levasseur, Brad Levasseur, Caelyn
Waite, Catori Waite, Sydney Joline, Sam Joline and Spencer Joline, as well as, 10 great
grandchildren.
Ralph was an artist, builder, designer and avid hunter with a love of the outdoors. He spent
countless hours attending athletic events at Dover Sherborn High School and beyond
supporting his children and grandchildren. He shared a passion for cars, a love of family, and
enjoyed gathering with family and friends.
His desire to invent and create led him to work as a draftsman on the Atlas Missile Project for
General Dynamics and later in the Chisholm family business, E.T. Chisholm,Inc. He started J.E.
Corporation in 1962 designing, constructing and servicing bowling alleys, a corporation still in
existence today and operated by his oldest son Ralph P. Joline, II.
He will be remembered for his direct nature, work ethic, and humor. "Bud" was a one of a kind
person and will never be forgotten by all who met him. He will be dearly missed.
There will be a wake for Ralph on Saturday March 9, 2024 from 11am-1pm at the Robert's
Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home on 15 Miller St, Medfield. Prayer service will begin at 1pm.
