Roger David Hood II

Roger David Hood II, 55 of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at his residence. He was born on December 8, 1967 in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Roger David Hood Sr. and Sylvia (McGary) Cooke. He was a former employee of Samtec of New Albany, Indiana. Roger enjoyed watching University of Kentucky sports especially basketball, vacationing to Florida, but most of all loved spending time with his family and grandchild. He was preceded in death by parents and stepfather Bernie Cooke. Survivors include his daughter, Sydney (Dexter Vertrees) Hood of New Albany, Indiana; his son, Sladen Hood of New Albany, Indiana; the mother of his children, Susan Hood of New Albany, Indiana; two grandsons, Enzo Alexander Vertrees and Liam Vertrees; one brother, Jason Hood of Louisville, Kentucky; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
