Sandra Jo Meyer

Sandra Jo Meyer, 84 of Brighton, Michigan passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
Sandra was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 4, 1939 to the late James and Dorothy Youness. She grew up in Southfield, Michigan and received her bachelor's degree in education from Eastern Michigan University. She always loved being a teacher.
She married David Meyer on June 20, 1970. Sandra enjoyed her teaching career, having spent time at Lincoln Elementary in Royal Oak, as well as working as a substitute teacher in Clarkston, Michigan for many years. She was also a member of St. Daniel Catholic Church in Clarkston, and later at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Tennessee.
In her free time, Sandra loved being surrounded by family, traveling, playing cards and good times with friends. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit and being up north on their sailboat in Mackinaw City, sailing the Great Lakes.. She will be greatly missed.
Beloved husband of David for 53 years. Loving mother of Craig Burwitz (Cyndi), Bruce Burwitz (Joleen), and Michaela Martin. Devoted grandmother of Alexandria Lamb (Nate), Jared Burwitz, Nicklas Martin, Ellie Burwitz, and Brenna Martin. Proud great-grandmother of Skylar Lamb. Dear sister of James Youness (Marilyn), and sister-in-law of Marie Ait-Loussine (Nordine).
