Stanley Lamar Watson

Stanley Lamar Watson, 75, husband of Margaret West Watson, resident of Fire Tower Rd., entered into rest Thursday April 27, 2023 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born on December 14, 1947 in Anderson County to the late Acey and Esther Green Watson, he joined the United States Army in 1968 being sent to Ft. Jackson, SC for basic training, he was stationed at Ft. Lee, VA, Arlington Heights Air Defense, IL, and deployed to Germany until his discharge in 1970. He then served in the Army Reserve until 1974. He was a retired machine operator from Torrington after 37 years of service. He was twice married, first to the late Waynelene Watson.
He was a member of First Baptist Church Honea Path.
Surviving is his loving wife of 14 years, of the home; his children, Brian Lamarr Watson, Shannon Martin and husband Patrick, and Dale Gunnells, all of Honea Path; his brother, Tyrone "T-Bone" Watson and wife Carolyn of Belton; his grandchildren, Slade and Jase Watson, Kala Calliham and husband Kenny, Karisa McClain and husband Garrett, Kylie Martin and boyfriend Justus Jarrard, Kate and Annabelle Gunnells; his great grandchild, Emersyn McClain; his special fur babies, Mollie and Duce.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 AM from the Garden of Memories with Rev. Sherrill Green officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
