He was born August 30, 1954, in Ft. Knox, KY, a son to the late Raymond D. Graves and Grace Mary Gaskill Graves.
Steve met and married the love of his life, Billie Jean Chaddic on July 11, 1982. They were together 35 years until her untimely death in July 2016. He was a phlebotomist with the American Red Cross for several years until his retirement in 2015.
Steve is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Diana VanHorn; one grandchild, Donnie Shearer and his wife Suzy; great-grandson, Mason Shearer; niece, Robin Gagel (Cliff) and two nephews, Robert W. RoBards (Sandy) and Lee J. Hagendoorn (Toni).
Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023 at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, 1104 S. Sixth Street, followed by entombment in Evergreen Mausoleum.
