Teresa Wakefield, 58, of Waukee, passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Caldwell Parrish - Adel Chapel. Burial will follow the service at the Wiscotta Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, May 12, 2023 at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and, also, one hour prior to the service. Live streaming of the service will be available at www.caldwellparrish.com , under Teresa's tribute wall.
Teresa Ann Wakefield was born September 12, 1964, in Perry, IA, to the parents of Keith and Bonnie (Countryman) Hogan. Teresa graduated from the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School and then continued her education at the University of Northern Iowa. On June 16, 1984, Teresa was united in marriage to Loren Wakefield. Together, this union was blessed by three children, Matthew, Ryan, and Andrea. They raised their children in the Waterloo area, until moving to Waukee, where Loren and Teresa continued to live.
Teresa enjoyed many hobbies including spending time with the grandchildren and reading. She was passionate when it came to playing games. She loved to play a good board game or the lure of a good card or dice game which enticed her to a friendly competition with her friends and family. Her loving compassion showed throughout all and she truly loved being there with her friends, and her loving family.
Her memory will continue on in the hearts and minds of her mother Bonnie Hogan; son Matthew (Joelle) Wakefield and their children Zander and Jocelyn; daughter Andrea (Mark) Lamb and their children Anthony, Nicholas and Raelynn; siblings David Hogan, Kevin (Tracy) Hogan, Joyce (Todd) Reynolds and nephew Michael. As well as other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her husband Loren, son Ryan, father Keith Hogan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The National Federation of the Blind of Iowa at P.O. Box 93071, Des Moines, IA 50393 or . Or to the University of Iowa Stead Family Hospital .
