Mass of the Resurrection for Thomas Michael Metcalf, 72, of Willoughby, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, at Ss. Robert & William Catholic Church, 367 E. 260th St., in Euclid.
Thomas passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, at the Jennings Home in Garfield Heights.
He was born Dec. 30, 1951, in South Bend, Ind.
Thomas was a graduate of St. Joseph High School Class of 1970, and Cleveland State University. He was a lover of all animals, nature and was an avid reader. He was also a history buff, music enthusiast and a "master joke teller," and loved being with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Thomas was the loving companion of Barbara (nee Zajac) Metcalf; dear brother of Ann (Patrick) Metcalf George, Stephen (Debra) Metcalf and Mary Kay (Thomas) Metcalf Olson; brother-in-law of Craig Allen, Judy and John Hodakievic, Ken and Nancy Zajac; cherished uncle of Ryan (Erica) Allen, Jamie Metcalf, Nick (Liz) Metcalf, Lauren (Nick) Baird, Patrick George, Greg Metcalf, Sarah (Nathan) Collins, Allison (Matthew) McDonald, Elizabeth George, Taylor (Heather) Metcalf, Rebecca (Hien) Truong, Jessica (Chris) Chodaczek, and Fr. Adam Zajac; and great-uncle of Caiden, Isabella, Jackson, Dash, Maisie, Charlotte, Violet, Emery, Ellie, Landry, Noah, Nora, Emma, Owen, Benjamin, Lillian, Terese and Hannah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Jeanne (nee Finneran) Metcalf; and sister, Kathleen Allen.
Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, until the time of the Mass at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name are suggested to Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School, 18491 Lakeshore Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44119.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
