Thomas P. McCarthy Jr.

EASTON----Thomas P. McCarthy, Jr. 53, a resident of Easton for the past 20 years, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a long and courageous battle with Multiple System Atrophy. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth (Sinnott) McCarthy for 22 years. Born in Rahway, New Jersey, son of Joan (Bodet) McCarthy of New Jersey and the late Thomas P. McCarthy, Sr., he was raised in Marshfield and graduated from Marshfield High School. He continued his education at Bryant University and received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts. He furthered his education by earning his Master of Business Administration degree from Suffolk University. Thomas was employed in the financial services software industry for many years. Most recently he worked as a sales manager for Yodlee based in Redwood City, CA. In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, and his mother, Joan, he is survived by his devoted children, Kathryn and John, both of Easton. He was the cherished brother of Kathleen Whalen and her husband, Donald, of Marshfield and their children, Meghan and Elizabeth; as well as Patricia Quinn and her husband, Daniel, of Marshfield and their children, Ryan and Catherine. Loving in-laws, close relatives and many dear friends also survive Thomas. He was a dedicated and loving husband and father, who treasured every moment with his children. He truly enjoyed spending his free time being surrounded by family and friends. Thomas was beloved by many for his warmth and kindness. An avid sports enthusiast, he loved playing and watching golf, fishing, skiing, biking and hiking. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 4-8 PM at Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138), Easton. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main Street, Easton. Interment will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM in Couch Cemetery, Union Street, Marshfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas's memory may be sent to Massachusetts General Hospital/Schmahmann Lab Development Office, 125 Nashua St., Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114. Checks are made payable to Massachusetts General Hospital with "Schmahmann Lab/Tom McCarthy" in the memo line.
