Alec Davis Obituary

Published by John F. Givnish Funeral Home - Buckingham on Jan. 7, 2021.
Alec Davis With deepest sorrow, we announce that A'kos Alexander 'Alec' Davis, age 15 our most beloved son, brother, family member and friend has passed away. Those who knew Alec, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. Alec was born in Conroe, Texas and could call many places 'home' but none he was prouder of or more excited about than Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Alec brought so much love and joy into our lives. All whom loved him dearly will never forget his big heart, his love of sports, his outdoor escapades, his indoor computer adventures, his 'finger guns of charm', his attempts to learn to cook, his deep fascination with all things space, and undying love and caring for them. Despite his gift of bringing love and laughter to people, deep inside he was suffering in the darkness, privately battling a deep inexplicable pain. He succumbed to the silent illness of depression. He left his pain, but he also left us all and we will never be the same again; we will never stop profoundly missing him. Alec is sorely missed everyday by his father Derrick Davis, step-mother Kirsten Hencken, mother Krisztina Varga Davis, older sister Barbara Varga, beloved nephew Skylar, best friends and siblings Gunnar Davis and Sofia 'Mae' Davis and his 'girl' Hannalore, his Shiloh shepherd. Family and friends are invited to join the family in a celebration of life service remembering and honoring Alec this Saturday, January 16th at the Leaver-Cable Funeral Home (4886 US-202, Buckingham, PA 18912). Doors will open at 1:00 pm for a time of gathering and visitation remembering his life. The visitation will be followed by a Life Celebration service starting at 3:00 pm. In light of Alec's battle with depression and the sadness his loss has left in its wake, the Davis family, neighbors, friends of Alec and others affected deeply by the loss depression can leave in its wake are working to create a foundation dedicated to supporting local children and their families who are suffering through depression, suicidal thoughts, and mental illness. We will shine light on the darkness, continuing our fight against it. More information will be shared in the next week on how people can get involved or support the initiative so no other life with so much promise is cut short by such darkness.

I was friends with Alec when he joined the football team. I used to go back and forth with him about plays so he would understand it all and be able to come to practice without being behind. I still think about him all the time and often bring him up because I refuse to let his legacy fade. Miss you buddy
