Lillian Lombardo Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lillian Winifred Lombardo ("Lilly") at her home in Doylestown, Pennsylvania on August 24, 2025. Lilly was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her kindness, sense of humor, creativity and devoted spirit will be sorely missed.

Lilly was born on September 11, 1944 to Philip and Evelyn Lagana in Bayside, New York. She graduated from the Mary Louis Academy and went on to graduate with a degree in speech pathology from St. John's University in Queens, New York. It was there that she met her devoted husband Frank.

During her time in New York, Lilly enjoyed going to the opera with her friends and family, exploring museums and historic sites, and experiencing fashion. She was an avid reader her entire life, with a good novel (nothing too serious) nearby at all times.

The centerpiece of her life with Frank was raising their three children, Sherilyn, Raymond, and Evelyn. Lilly supported them, encouraged their academic pursuits, and instilled in them a strong sense of family and faith. She was overjoyed when she became a grandmother, first to Caroline and Christian, then Jonathan and Teddy, and her youngest grandson, Jameson. She spent time singing, reading, and being silly with them. Lilly also volunteered at her church, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, where she taught CCD. She loved attending mass and had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and St. Anthony.

Lilly had a unique gift for making everything special and beautiful that she touched. She had an amazing eye for art, antiques, and decorating. After moving to Doylestown, she was able to channel that gift into her interior design business. She was a featured designer at the Bucks County Designer House & Gardens Tour for several years, and enjoyed working with paints, fabrics, textiles, antique decor, and furnishings.

Despite being ill for many years, Lilly continued to be a bright light to her family and appreciated life's gifts, like birthdays, dance recitals, religious celebrations, and other milestones. She was always bolstered by Frank who never left her side and cared for her tirelessly until her passing. They provided a tremendous example to their children and grandchildren of what a devoted marriage looks like.

Lilly is survived by her husband of 57 years, Frank Lombardo, and her children, Sherilyn and Christopher Kulesh, Raymond and Mary Lombardo, and Evelyn and Jonathan Cusson, and grandchildren, Caroline and Christian Kulesh, Jonathan and Teddy Lombardo, and Jameson Cusson, as well as her younger brother, Vincent Lagana.

A memorial and celebration of Lilly's life will take place at Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home of Doylestown, located at 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901, on August 29, 2025. The family will welcome visitors for a viewing from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a prayer service.

Private cremation will follow.
