Jack W. Goble, 84, of North Olmsted, Ohio passed away Monday, June 7, 2021. He was born June 20, 1936 in Wevaco, West Virginia to the late Arnold and Rosie (nee Compton) Gobel. Jack was raised in Wevaco, alongside eight siblings, in the heart of Coal Country. He left school to join the US Army at age 17 and faithfully served for four years, eight months and twenty-eight days. During his time of service, Jack was stationed in Korea and Japan in addition to state-side duty that included heavy artillery demonstrations at numerous bases. After his discharge from the Army, Jack made his way north from West Virginia to Cleveland, finding work at J.L. Steel. He met Margurette "Peg" Heggen and they were married on September 12, 1959. While awaiting the birth of their second child, Jack experienced a layoff from J.L. Steel. He was then able to begin working for and training under Mr. Wagner of Wagner's Bakery in Lakewood. Jack worked for the bakery many years, and later also worked for Wagner's Country Inn, Westwood Country Club, Normandy Assisted Living and 100 Bomb Group. Jack continued to bake cookies and cakes for family and friends for years to come, with his chocolate chip cookies being his specialty. Jack enjoyed spending time with his family, which over the years came to include four children, thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Jack and Peg enjoyed taking their four children on vacation every summer to visit family in Texas, Tennessee, West Virginia and the Niagra Falls area of New York. Jack is survived by his beloved wife Margurette "Peg" (nee Heggen) for almost 62 years; loving children Jack W. Jr. (Valerie Martindale) Goble, Barbara (David) Smith, Amy (Thomas) Heffner and Timothy (Pamela) Goble; cherished grandchildren Hunter (Lee) Allen, Rowan Goble, Daniel Smith, the late Jennifer Dentz (Blake Dentz), Catherine Smith (Jason Smith), Amy E. Goodbye, uncle Jack. When I was a child and a teenager you were my hero and I loved you very much. The only way that feeling changed over the years as I became an adult was the tremendous respect I have for you. I miss you already and you will be with me in my heart forever.

Many of you knew him as one of the kindest most generous souls in North Olmsted. He was a baker (and so much more) who affected the lives of thousands in the greater Cleveland area. Condolences are appreciated, but if he affected your life in any way please drop my mom a card or letter.

My heart is broken. I love you dad.
