Lee Klippel Obituary

Lee Hughes Klippel, 68, of Avon, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018. Lee was the beloved wife for 36 years of Charles H. Klippel and the adored and adoring mother of Lee Case Klippel and mother-in-law of Justin Russell Jee, M.D. of New York City. Lee was born in Winchester, MA, daughter of the late William James and Minnie Parsons Hughes. Lee was an accomplished linguist who taught French and Spanish in both Massachusetts and Connecticut. She held a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management. Lee was an avid traveler with an extraordinary appreciation for the culture and beauty of all the places she visited. The joy she took in planning enlivened the outings and adventures she embarked on with family and friends. She belonged to a broad array of social and service groups, many focused on her passions for languages, bridge, walking, theater and the arts. Her tireless dedication, creativity, and generosity brightened the lives of those around her. Lee's family will receive friends on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 3-6pm at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers her family asks that memorial contributions may be made to the Yale School of Management, Office of Development and Alumni Relations, P.O. Box 208200, New Haven, CT 06520-8200.
