Kathryn Greer Obituary

Kathryn E. Greer

Kathryn E. Greer, 63 of Lafayette passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 at her residence after her fourth battle with cancer.

She was born July 14, 1953 in Lafayette to the late Roger and Norma (Steinbaugh) Seyfried.

Kathryn's marriage was to John Greer and he survives.

Kathryn worked for the Tippecanoe County Court House for 38 years, primarily in the Child Support Division.

She was a member of Victory Temple Church of God, having been the Secretary for nearly 20 years. She was also an active member of the Relay for Life.

Her hobbies were making crafts, loving her grandchildren, cooking and bargain shopping (she had a gift for it.) Kathryn attended all the extra-curricular activities that she possibly could, sometimes signing her family up right along with her. She also volunteered to serve the community on many occasions including Christmas Events.

Kathryn was a strong member to her community and her family. She lifted people up, encouraged, loved and was always there for everyone.

Kathryn's faith in God will forever be a testimony to all of us.

Surviving along with her husband are two sons, John Brandon Greer (wife, Amber) and Peter Greer (wife, Dawn) of Lafayette. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Damien, Emma, Peter, Asa, Piper & Nella.

She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Lauren and a sister, Cherri.

Services: A Memorial Service is being held at Victory Temple Church of God on Wednesday, Dec. 14th at 6 p.m.

I had so many fun times with Kathyfrom her practical jokes to her outrageously funny stories. Kathy's humor and kindness were infectious. Kathy always shared her new finds with us at work, it ran the gamut from an item she had found, made, or bought. They were items I usually had never seen before. Kathy had a soft spot for all who were in need, and quietly helped. I truly admired, and to this day try to exemplify her ability to forgive the individuals, who ill-treated her. She did so with grace, kindness, and respect. She is treasured. I will always remember her and will miss seeing her. I know in my heart that God has assigned Kathy to watch over us.

My Prayers & Thoughts are with the Family,Kathy will be greatly Missed but never Forgot. I was raised with her just a few houses down and She always was so uplifting and made you smile. I would run into her at a store or somewhere and she still laugh and make my day. She is home now with our lord and smiling big as ever. God Bless you all.
