Elesa Christy Obituary
April 15, 1952 - January 28, 2021
Lifelong resident of Santa Clara County
It is with great sadness that we announce that our beloved sister and aunt, Elesa Ann Christy, passed away after a fierce battle with covid.
Lisa was born on April 15th, 1952, in San Jose, California, to Helen and Dick Christy. She graduated from Branham High School and UC Santa Barbara. After college she spent some time in Alaska before moving back to the Santa Clara Valley where she began a career at Stanford. She later returned to school and earned her Master's Degree in Education from San Jose State. She then began a second career in elementary education, from which she recently retired.
Lisa was a very talented artist and her love of art brought her great joy. She treasured her dear friends from childhood, Khartoum, Stanford and teaching. In recent years she enjoyed visiting her family in the Santa Cruz area and was planning to move there to be closer to them. When her great-niece and nephews arrived, she always remembered them on just about every holiday, sending a card with stickers. The joy she brought to those around her will carry on. So if you're debating whether or not you should send someone that silly card, do it, and do it for Lisa.
Lisa is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Dave Henningsen, her brothers, Dave and Rob Christy, nieces Christy McCurdy (Erron), and Erin Henningsen, great-nephews, Elliot Henningsen and Shane McCurdy, and great-niece Ava McCurdy. She is also survived by her uncle, Bob Warburton, and her cousins, Leslie Garcia and Doug Warburton.
A private service will be held. Lisa had a very keen social conscience and in the past year was supporting those who were struggling during this pandemic. Reaching out in support of someone who needs a hand would be a great way to honor her memory.

I had the privilege of both studying under Lisa as a Student Teacher, then working with her later as a colleague. I will fondly remember her giant-heart, her laugh, and her beautiful kindergarten writing! Namaste, Lisa!
