OLINATZ, Diane E.

Diane E. Olinatz, 60, of East Hartford, daughter of the late John and Louise (Barno) Olinatz, passed away on Saturday, (May 18, 2013). Diane was a graduate of George J. Penney High School, East Hartford - Class of 1970 and from Central Connecticut State College, New Britain where she earned her degree in teaching. She loved being a teacher. Her greatest gift will be the lives she touched during her 30 years of teaching. Her students were so much a part of her life. Diane enjoyed traveling. Her favorite destinations were London, Rome, Florence, Paris, San Diego, San Francisco, New York City, and Disney World. She was an avid reader who enjoyed mysteries, biographies, and current best sellers. Diane was also a loyal fan of the UCONN Women's basketball team. Diane will be lovingly remembered by her two sisters, Shirley D. Olinatz of East Hartford, and Laraine L. Olinatz of Glastonbury; two brothers, John R. Olinatz of East Hartford, and Russ R. Olinatz and his wife, Diane, of Glastonbury. She also leaves three nephews, Rick Olinatz and Russ Olinatz, Jr. both of Glastonbury, Bob Olinatz and his wife, Jill, of Ellington; a niece, Diane Diers and her husband, Jasper, of Glastonbury; three great-nephews, Brody and Bryce Olinatz both of Ellington, Dylan John Diers of Glastonbury; her uncle, Charles Olintz of Bensalem, PA; her aunt, Irene Rhoads and her husband, Lawrie, of Medford, MA.
Funeral services will be Wednesday May 22 at 9 a.m. from the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer St., East Hartford. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, (Section D), East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel TODAY from 3-6 p.m. Memorial contributions in Diane's name may be made to St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer St., East Hartford, CT 06118. To the family of Diane: I will always remember the fun times I had while working with Diane in Head Start. We shared many beautiful memories over those years together. Dear John,Laraine,Russ & Shirley, I'm so very sorry for the loss of your loving sister. I will always have her in my thoughts & prayers. It is never easy losing someone so very close to you. I really can't find any words to convey how sad I am for you but know that I love all of you very much because we are family and your loss is also my loss.
