Kelly Lynn Claussen, 62, of Union Mills, IN, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024, at VNA Hospice Center.
Kelly was born on August 15, 1962, in Hobart, IN, to Charles and Darlene (Paul) Lake.
On July 13, 1992, in Valparaiso, IN, she married Daniel Claussen, who survives. Also surviving are her 3 children, Steven (Roberta) Claussen of Hebron, Jacob Goldie of Union Mills, and Kaitlyn (Brian) Hardin of Union Mills,; 4 grandchildren, Ella, Luke, Roen, and Lena Hardin of Union Mills; sister, Robyn (Shawn) Waggoner of Long Beach; brother, Richard (Teresa) Lake of Hobart; sister-in-law, Diane (Doug) Cunningham of Interlocken; brother-in-law, David (Kim) Claussen of Fort Wayne; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Rudy.
Kelly loved her job as a "Professional Nana", taking pride in her family and home. She enjoyed taking vacations, particularly ones that involved laying on the beach and soaking up the sun. Most importantly, Kelly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Brandon Martin officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Donations Processing Center, Autism Speaks, P.O. Box 37148, Boone, IA 50037-0148.
