Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation CenterSandra A. Bachmann, 83, passed away peacefully at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, in San Antonio, TX. She was with family at the home of her eldest daughter, Andrea Bachmann.
Sandra was born June 28, 1942, in La Porte, IN, to George T. and Dorothy E. (Magnuson) Koehler. She was raised by her mother and maternal grandmother, Ella Magnuson. On September 19, 1964, she married Richard C. Bachmann, who preceded her in death in 2004.
She is survived by her four children, Andrea L. (Kendall Tripp) Bachmann of San Antonio, TX, Carla S. (Jim Vepley) Bachmann of Phoenix, AZ, Brenda Bachmann of San Antonio, TX, and Bryan R. (Mindy) Bachmann of Boerne, TX. She also leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren, Brianna (Zac Walls) Forsthoefel, Alyssa (Malcym) Carroll, Vincent Gerou, Lewis Gerou, Eva Gerou, Maggie Bachmann, and Ella Bachmann.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
After relocating several times throughout their marriage, Sandra finally settled back in LaPorte with her late husband. A devoted homemaker and lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Sandra was known for her kind heart, creative spirit, and unwavering love for her family. A proud graduate of LaPorte High School, she was also a member of the American Legion. She found joy in quilting, crafting, and working on puzzles, often sharing her beautiful creations with loved ones. An animal lover at heart, she cherished the companionship of her two beloved cats, who were always by her side. Her warmth, creativity, and gentle nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Above all, Sandra valued her faith and her family. Her life was a reflection of quiet strength, steady devotion, and unconditional love. Her warmth, creativity, and gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Cremation has taken place.
A Graveside Service and urn burial will take place at 10 a.m. (CST) on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Carmel Cemetery, La Porte, with Pastor Dennis Meyer officiating.
