Nona Mae Roesler Kyle passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Primrose Memory Care in Appleton, WI.

Nona was born on June 6, 1937, to Willard and Evelyn (Huebner) Roesler in a big yellow house in the town of Dale, WI. She graduated from Menasha High School in 1955 and from Milwaukee-Downer College (now part of Lawrence University) in 1959.

While in college, Nona interned with the Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton.  She worked at the Schlitz Brewing Company in Milwaukee after college.  The majority of her work career was with Foley and Lardner in Milwaukee starting in September 1962 andretiring in February 2000 as supervisor of the Conflicts Department.  On her last day, she was given a sign that said, “Nona and Lardner”.

Nona married the love of her life, William D. Kyle, Jr, in 2002.  Unfortunately, William passed away much too soon, in 2004. Nona and William had a lot of fun together and really enjoyed each other’s company.  They would talk for hours on a variety of topics.

Nona was quite memorable.  She never backed down from a good “discussion”.  It’s pretty much guaranteed that anyone who ever met Nona would remember her.  She loved to read and knew a lot about many subjects.  The only exception being her cell phone.  She never quite mastered it and had many battles with it and the cell carriers.

Nona really enjoyed helping others. She didn’t care who you were or where you came from, she wanted to help.  She took a keen interest in anybody she met.  While Nona wasn’t shy, she was a great listener and a friend to many.

Nona will be missed by her sister and brothers: Carlyn L. Pingel; James I. Roesler; Jerome W. (Katherine) Roesler; and Dan A. (Helen) Roesler; Nieces: Susan (Patrick) Suprise, Vanessa (Casey) Biddle, Kelly (Perry) Siebers, and Kimberly (Brian) Jochman; Nephews: Eric, Dean, Kirk, Todd (Janey), and Ryan(Karyn) Pingel, James (Sherry) , Gregory (Terri), and Scott (Donna) Roesler; and Friends: Diane, Penny, Annie, Marie, Debbie, George and Pat.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard C.and Evelyn S. Roesler; husband, William D. Kyle, Jr; brother, Volney L. Roesler, sister-in-law, Susan M. Roesler; brother-in-law: Earl L. Pingel, two nieces-in-law: Dawn Pingel and Donna Pingel, and friends: Gregory, Yoko, and Richard.

Any talk of Nona would be incomplete without mention of her beloved dogs: Hans, Milo, and Scruffy, all of whom previously passed away.  Nobody loved their dogs more than Nona.  She gave them sooooo much attention.  She loved them and they loved her.  She went everywhere with her dog.

The funeral service for Nona will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N Superior St, Appleton, WI. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Burials will be in Dale Union Cemetery and Forest Home Cemetery.  Her Godson, The Reverend Dean T. Pingel, will officiate.

In honor of Nona’s love for all animals, any memorials will be directed to The Neenah Animal Shelter.

Nona’s family would like to give special thanks to her friends Marie and Debbie, for all their care and compassion these past few years
