Ralph Garner Obituary

Ralph Garner Passed away at home peacefully on the morning of May 26 2015 following a long illness. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Ila M (Culbertson) Garner and his grandson Paul C. Garner. Ralph was born June 9th 1925 in Flint Michigan.

Ralph was a 34 year resident of Kingwood. A veteran of WWII Ralph held degrees from Albion College in Mathematics and Physics and The University of Michigan in Mechanical Engineering. Following graduation Ralph embarked on a 33 year career with The B.F. Goodrich Company.

Ralph had a passion for learning and adventure, and loved to explore the outdoors, dance, work with his hands, and was an avid reader. Ralph was also an amateur photographer chronicling much of his family travels and gatherings. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren to share his passions and experiences. His family fondly remembers yearly summer camping trips touring U.S. parklands.

Ralph was an active member of Kingwood United Methodist Church. Prior to his illness, Ralph was actively involved with square and round dancing and had served a term as President of The Houston Square and Round Dance Counsel.

Ralph is survived by children Phillip Garner (Loraine), Randolph Garner (Kari Weston), Roberta Conrad (Dean), Dion Garner (Carolyn) and Scott Garner; grandchildren, Adam, Melissa, Phillip Jr., Michael, Jonathan, Janell, Patrick and Sophia; and great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Kayla, Brinique, Rosanna, Tristan, Paloma, Scarlett, Zamira, Stella and Emily. Funeral Services were held at Kingwood United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 30th, 2015.
