Robin Peckinpaugh passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by those she loved most, on Thursday, September 11, 2025. She was reunited in heaven with her husband of 45 years, Jon Hoyt Peckinpaugh.

Born on February 17, 1957, in New Albany, Indiana, to Arthur Jr. and Ruthelma Biel, Robin was a 1975 graduate of New Albany High School, where she was a standout athlete, state finalist swimmer, and class valedictorian. She went on to continue her studies at Ball State University, earning a degree in Special Education, later completing a master’s degree and her Director’s License. While at Ball State, Robin was a proud member of Sigma Kappa sorority.

On May 27, 1978, Robin married her soulmate, Jon Peckinpaugh. Together, they raised their four children in Springport, Indiana.

Robin was employed by Muncie Community Schools from 1980 until her retirement in 2019, beginning her career as a Special Education teacher at Morrison-Mock Elementary and concluding as Director of Special Programming for Muncie Community Schools.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Robert (Angela) Peckinpaugh, Ashley (Aaron) Upchurch, Philip Hoyt (Melissa) Peckinpaugh, and John (Haley) Peckinpaugh; and her five grandchildren: Avery and Aubrey Upchurch, Ruthie, Hoyt, and Jax Peckinpaugh. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Rick (Mary) Peckinpaugh; sisters-in-law Darlene Peckinpaugh and Becky Biel; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends, the Nacrelli family, the Muncey family, and the Clouser family.

Robin was preceded in death by her husband, Jon H. Peckinpaugh; her brother, Robert Biel; nephew, Michael Biel; sisters-in-law Karin Peckinpaugh and Kathy “Petey” Hargis; and special friend Koby Muncey.
