Daniel L. Peckinpaugh, 87, passed away June 12, 2025, at his residence.
He was born December 4, 1937, in Muncie, one of the twin sons of George "Mark" and Ella Mildred (Huffman) Peckinpaugh. Daniel graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1955.
Daniel married Gale Barnett on May 28th, 1960.
Mr. Peckinpaugh started out as an Apprentice for The Morning Star and Evening Press, now The Star Press in 1955, and worked as a Printer until 1990. Concurrently, Daniel was employed as a Rural Carrier for the United States Postal Service, from 1966 until his retirement in 2003.
Daniel was an avid collector of vinyl records and drove a school bus for the M&M Bus Company many years ago.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gale Peckinpaugh; a daughter, Dawn Peckinpaugh-Tremaine; a son, Glen (Dawn) Peckinpaugh; grandchildren, Joshua Tremaine and Justin (Jennifer) Peckinpaugh; a great granddaughter, Remi Peckinpaugh; a great grandson, Lucas Tremaine; a sister-in-law, Mary Peckinpaugh; a brother-in-law, Tony Swearingin; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Peckinpaugh was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Troy Peckinpaugh; a grandson, Travis Tremaine; twin brother, David Peckinpaugh; a son-in-law, Gary Tremaine; five sisters, Eileen Martin, Kelsea Phyllis Smith, Janet Katz, Nola Crist, and Marcia Brown.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 23, 2025, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, from 12:00 pm until service time at 2:00 pm, on Monday, June 23, 2025.
Memorial contributions may be made to Muncie Animal Care & Services, 901 W. Riggin Road, Muncie, IN 47303.
