Russell Wayne White passed away February 9, 2016 at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Born January 5, 1948 in Dallas, Texas, Russell graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1966. He attended Texas Tech University and graduated with honors in December 1970 with a BS in Industrial Engineering. While at Tech, Russell was a member of Tau Beta Pi and Alpha Pi Mu. Upon graduation he joined Humble Oil & Refining Company (now ExxonMobil) in Tyler, Texas. Russell's career took him all over the world, as he worked on projects from Alaska's Prudhoe Bay to the North Sea and beyond. In 2007, he was named as ExxonMobil's first Chief Reservoir Engineer serving as the Senior Technical Advisor to the Global Upstream Reservoir Engineering Organization. Russell retired from ExxonMobil in March 2013, with over 42 years of service with the organization. He was an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers for over 40 years, served on the Texas Tech Industrial Engineering Advisory Board from 1976 to 1982, and was recently inducted as a member of Tech's Academy of Petroleum Engineers. Russell was preceded in death by his parents Lillie Mae Russell and Thomas Floyd White, his brother Thomas White. Russell is survived by his wife of 40 years Cynthia Jane LaRue White, daughter Amanda Kiehle and her husband John, daughter Amelia White, and daughter Alyson Igoe and her husband Peter, his grandchildren Eileen, Jonathan and Lily, and his brother Jerry White and his wife Trudy. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service was held on Saturday February 13, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood, 5520 Kingwood Drive, Kingwood, Texas, 77345 at 3:00 pm. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Russell's memory to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, Texas Gulf Coast Chapter, 5433 Westheimer, Suite 300, Houston, TX, 77056 or to the First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood, 5520 Kingwood Drive, Kingwood, TX 77345.
