Moneta M. JORSTAD Moneta, age 91, passed away from this life into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Friday, March 5. She was preceded in death by husband Robert Jorstad, son Bruce Jorstad, Sister Betty Harris, Brother Ken Harris and second husband Robert Young. She is survived by Daughter Bonnie Norman (Gary), son Mark Jorstad, five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Born in Seattle, Moneta graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Linfield College. In 1939, she married high school sweetheart Bob Jorstad. In 1958, they founded Jorstad Jewelers, in Burien. After 18 years, Bob and Moneta turned Jorstad Jewelers over to son Mark. They enjoyed travel and cruises to virtually every area of the world during their retirement years. Bob and Moneta were founding members of the Northwest Chapter of the Hemophilia Association- due to son Bruce's Hemophilia. It is impossible to put into words the noble character, beauty, virtue, sacrifices and life exhibited by the matriarch of our family. Our blessed Mom's interests were family, bible studies, travel, piano playing, dancing, sewing, knitting, quiz shows, reading and personal friendships. Moneta's life long gift was her sacrificial involvement with her family. She is considered our family treasure due to her positive attitude and her unconditional love. We are thankful for the major role she played in each of our lives and we will cherish her love forever. The family wishes to express special gratitude to Angelwings Adult Family Home, for their care and kindness to Moneta during the last five years of her life. Bleitz Funeral Home and Mount Pleasant Cemetery made her burial arrangements. Her Memorial Services will be held at Trinity Community Church, 3807 Reith Road, Kent, WA 98002, on March 13th, at 2:00PM. The family requests that remembrances be made in her name to Trinity Community Church and/or to Seattle Union Gospel Mission. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Bonnie, I see you in your mom's eyes. Both of you such beautiful women. I remember your brother Bruces's illness and how fragile he was and what a supportive sister you were. It was so wonderful to see you at our 50th high school reunion. Your mom must have been so proud of you. Love, Marian

Dear Bonnie, I had the privilege of meeting your Mother at Angelwings when our Mother (Alfreda) was there. Moneta was a beautiful woman...always smiling and so gracious. When the death of a loved one is expected it is still unexpected. Love to you and yours. Janet Waggoner .

Bonnie & Mark,
Carol and I saw your mom in the Times this morning. Last time we saw her was at your dad's service. We saw Mark at Don Brown's service. I always thought your mom was such a classy lady. I'll be out of town Saturday and Carol has been down with a bad cold so not sure if she can attend. We'll keep you all in our prayers.
