Genevieve "Jane" (Ladzinski) Romajas, 102, of the Marion section of Southington, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 19, 2012 in her own home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank T. Romajas, who died 47 years ago. Born in Southington on September 23, 1910 to the late Stanislaus and Rozalia (Kania) Ladzinski, she resided in her hometown most of her long life. After attending local schools, Jane worked at Ingraham Clock Shop, Bristol. After marriage, she and her husband both worked for Lux Clock Shop in Waterbury, where she also attended Post College. After raising her six children, and following her husband's death, Jane returned to the workforce and from 1967 to 1989 served at the Marion Post Office, (6 months as temporary postmaster) retiring at age 79 as the senior window clerk. Jane was a communicant, lifelong and founding member of St. Aloysius Parish since its inception in 1960 and was a member and past president of its Ladies Guild. She served on and chaired many fundraising events to assist the building of the new church in Milldale. She leaves behind three sons: Frank (Ruth) Romajas and John (Mary) Romajas both of Marion, Michael (Arlene) Romajas of Prospect, two daughters: MaryAnn and Margie Romajas, with whom she made her home. She also leaves 13 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren, her youngest sibling Lucille Salerno of Southington, sister-in-law Pauline Gedraitis and her husband Frank of Marion and many cherished nieces and nephews and their families and a few cousins. Jane was predeceased by her eldest daughter Genevieve "Jenny" Romajas, a great grandson Aiden Stewart (age 2), her brothers: Joseph, William and Paul Ladzinski, her sisters Helen Dubowsky, Wanda Winters, Stasia Bartucco, and Mary, who died as a child and by special longtime friends Maggie Lutkus and Anna and Jim Hermann. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday at the St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., (Milldale) Plantsville from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
