Russell Morris Obituary
Russell William Morris Lt. Cmdr US Navy (Ret.) October 27, 1945 â€" November 3, 2022. It is with sadness that we tell of the death of Russell Morris, who was the husband to
Gemma (Menicucci) Morris for 51 years; and the father of Marisa Angela Peyerl, wife of Freddie Peyerl, and Justin Robert Morris husband of Amy Blanchet Morris. He dearly loved and so
enjoyed his grandchildren, Ryan William, and Corbin James Peyerl, and Katherine Elizabeth Morris.
Russell is also survived by cousins, Maureen Kerr of Florida, Steve Dobbins and Rose Marie Renn of
Albuquerque, and in-laws, Theresa Menicucci,
Roberta Menicucci, John and Muffin Menicucci, Mark and Susie Menicucci, Laura and Danny Miller, and Philip and Susan Menicucci.
He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on October 27th, 1945, and moved with his mother, Irene Dobbins
Morris, and father, William Russell Morris, to Albuquerque when he was eight years old. He is
predeceased by his parents and sister, Christine Dick, and nephew, Clayton Bewley.
He attended St. Charles Catholic School and graduated from St. Pius High School in 1963. He graduated from UNM with a Business Administration degree in 1967 and enlisted in the Navy and served in the Philippines during the Vietnam Conflict. He remained in the Navy Reserve as an Intelligence Officer until retirement in 1988. Concurrently, he was employed with Sears as a Manager. After retiring from Sears and the Navy, he worked in the
Student Admissions office at UNM for 16 years. He took great joy with these three careers and met many people who enriched his life. In retirement, he volunteered at Kaseman Hospital for several years.
His children are very grateful for the care of his loving wife during his
battle with Parkinson's disease as well as the care, prayers and help of many friends, including Nury, Ruby, Louis, Trent, Bradyn, and Daniel, and Ambercare Hospice.

Martinez, Louis Guerra, Roger Oetzel, and Kevin
Youngman.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., at FRENCH â€" Lomas.
Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont NE Albuquerque, NM 87110. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Dear Gemma, I am sad to learn of Russell´s death. He was Mister Sears to me and a guy with a basketball in his left had readying to let a shot fly. He was one real special guy who was so lucky to marry you and come into your family. I can hard his leaving this planet is for you and the kids. God Bless

I learned so much working with Russell as a student employee at UNM. He was always so kind and willing to go above and beyond for every person he helped. I am saddened to hear of his passing, my deepest condolences.

I had the privilege of working with Russell, such a caring, wonderful man. Last time I saw Russell was when he was volunteer at Anna Kaseman, we chatted I truly enjoyed seeing he took as much care in volunteering as he did in UNM Admissions. I am sadden about the loss of such a great colleague. Blessings to his family & bless Russell's soul.
